Sex and the City Slots

The Wizard of Odds has information on his site explaining how to figure the expected return of slot machines. I saw some people doing this "mapping the reels" at the Palms a few years ago.

Here's his general page about calculating the expected payback of slots: http://wizardofodds.com/slots

And another page that explains how to map the reels: http://wizardofodds.com/slots/slotapx1.html

I'm not sure if this can only be done on mechanical reel slots or also on video reels.

When I was shopping for a vp machine, I asked the store owner about the
payouts on slot machines. He showed me that on older slot machines
there is a small clear space on the front glass (maybe 3/16 by 1 inch)
so that you can see the mechanical counters that show the coin-in and
coin-out of the machine. Then you should be able to calculate the long
term payout of a particular slot machine.

However, this would not apply to the newer machines!

I remember learning about those conters way back from a Skip's Group member. There were sometimes three counters: Coin in, out and jackpots. Powerful information.
I also distinctly remember a photograph posted on either this or Skip's group that had Elliot Shapiro at a Double Diamond progressive with the 3 DD's symbols. He had a big s**t ass grin

This would help identify "the" machine that is set for 99% when they
have a sign posted above that says 'This bank pays up to 99%'.

Wife and I were longtime SHG members. But it wasn't us. We attended 6
of the SHG meetings and met many helpful people. We miss those meetings.
