sequential royal strategy

3SRF is weaker than a flush in 9-6 jacks but stronger than a flush in 8-5
bonus or jacks. your $8.60 value is too high. The extra 46000 coins adds a
little less than 21.28 coins to the value of the 3SRF. The best 3SF is TJQ+
two 7 or less. this is almost 7.99 coins so with the bonus it is 29.27
coins or a little less than $7.32 at 9-6 jacks thus the flush at $7.50 is
better. This hand is worth a little less at 8-5 BP.

I did an analysis 7 or 8 years ago (Silverton used to have
5-8 bonus with the sequential RF). Not much diff between JB
and BP, so these comments (based on a 25-cent game) should
be relevant;

Without further thought or analysis, I'm transcribing my
old notes written to myself.

(1) Total return for BP goes from 99.166% to 99.635% with
reversible royal 50,000 coins. Increase is 0.47%

(2) A 4cdRF is worth $23 non-sequential, and $321
sequential. A pat SF is only worth $62.50. If you're ever
fortunate enough to be dealt 9KQJT or TJQK9....

- it's a $258 error to keep the straight flush!

(3) A 3cd RF is worth $1.80 non-sequential, and $8.60
sequential. This makes it worth more than a flush (also 3
K/Q/J in BP).

RESIST THE IMPULSE TO AUTOMATICALLY HOLD WITHOUT THINKING
WHEN DEALT A NATURAL FLUSH - ALWAYS CHECK FOR A POSSIBLE
ROYAL.

- dump a flush (or anything less valuable) for a 3cd SeqRF.

(4) A 2cd RF is worth $.62 - $.76 non-sequential, and $.72
- $.91 sequential. This is a 20% difference, and we won't
last long making errors of this magnitude.

   - keep T---A seq'l (vs bare A or A/Qu etc)
   - " TJ--- " from TJ/Qu (vs JQ otherwise).
   - " T-Q-- " from TQ/Ju (vs QJ otherwise).

Hope this helps,

Brian
