I'm happy to see bits about casinos outside of Nevada. There's a
strong bias against anything less than full-pay in this group, but I
think there's money to be made outside Nevada.
I don't believe that many of us adjust stategy when playing less than
full-pay machines. Our training and what is readily available are
strategy cards specific to Full-pay game pay tables.
It takes time to memorize and play fluently a revised tailored to a
different pay table. I understand the mathematics that when they cut
back the payoff for a common hand like 4K in deuces wild, they can't
make up for this overall %Payback loss even with a large improvement
to less common hands like SF and 5K. BUT,
You can (IMO) tailor your strategy to try to get more of these higher-
paying hands. Duh! But saying that and doing it take not only
software but the time to practice the new strategy cheat sheet.
I got no info from anyone here when I started a thread on OREGON
state & casino games. I fumbled thru my weekend there Jan 18/19 with
my own modified cheat sheet which favored the higher pay-offs for SFs
for example. Yes I lost a few hundred dollars, playing one coin per
hand for about 12 hours total. I hit no Jackpots.

Anyhow, after this pre-ramble, my trip report for Seneca-Niagara:
I was in Buffalo Jan 21-Feb 2 for family business. I got up to the
Casino for 4 sessions, about 35 hours vp gaming time total. The
facility is new and spacious. Attendant service was a bit slow for
hand-pays and hopper fills, but there was always an empty machine
nearby while I waited.
All the vp terminals were multi-game. Most were slant-tops. Like Rick
and Bflo Bill said below, .05, .25, .50 and $1 machines were all less
than FP. JoB was 8/5. At least half the machines had 16/13/4 on the
5K/SF/4K Deuces. DB was 9/6. That's all I played and noted. BUT, the
$5 and up machines were 9/6 JoB. Hooray for the high rollers. There
was also Triple-Play/5-play and 10-play Multi-play for .05, .50, $1
and $5. I didn't find multi-play at the .25 level. No cashback here
by-the-way.
Session one I floundered around and lost my day's allocation, but it
lasted me 7 hours. Mostly quarters, some dollars.
Session Two I floundered much of the day, but near the session end I
hit the Royal on JoB quarters for +$1K to keep me close to even for
the day.
Session 3 I hit two quad Deuces in Deuces Wild quarters for +$250
each in my first hour. I discovered a sweet .50 machine that
automatically pre-Held the "proper" cards. While I occasionally
corrected the holdings, (to hold 2 and 3card RFs for example) I found
I could really sail along, maybe up to 20 hands per minute (!)
ANyhow, it wasn't making me a profit, so I went over to the $1
machines to try to recoup what I'd been dribbling away earlier.
That didn't pay off, so I took the HUGE step (for me) to try the $5
coin machines. Hundred buck get 20 creds and the JoB is 9/6. I play
so slow and so careful. being dealt trips and drawing straights or
flushes is a BIG thrill (to me) at this level. I turned dealt trip
Jacks into quads and cashed out even on the day.
Session 4 was a good day. ROYAL and two quad deuces on my fast 50cent
machine (+$3K + one W-2G). End sequence I tackle the $5 machines like
I was a regular and make $500 more profit after an hour play,
emptying 4 hoppers (attendants nowhere to be found) and risking all
my profit hundred dollar bills. One quads and a bunch of boats. Whew.
That's all for now.

I went to Seneca Niagara twice, as a whole I like the casino
atmosphere, but video poker I think it stinks. I will be going back
to Casino Niagara where I can play 9/7 DB and full pay pickem. I will
only go to seneca to play craps.
