There is no need for me to ask. I was already told they have something in the works.

Why you would want to play a low return non-progressive over a high return progressive is beyond me, but you are not alone and they know this and are taking steeps to accommodate you and others like you.

P.S. No need to explain your position. I accept that people are different and different people gamble for different reasons.

Then I actually would have an excuse to go there and play while dragging gf, family or friends. Right now I just have no desire to go when every other casino in the area, except Silverton, has better games. They need bodies in there. I know the progressives are positive at times but Im not willing to play with those tables. So what about the rest of us?

actually what the m really really needs is some multiline games that are playable. aces bonus and job are BORING with just a single line...

Even if M Resort puts in FPDW wall-to-wall tomorrow, it doesn't matter for the relatively near future. This game is GOING to change! I didn't do it, you didn't do it, no one here on vpfree did it. But it's going to change. People need to stop living in the past and adapt for the future. Sure, I'd like to play single deck blackjack with a 1-10 bet spread and no heat, but it AIN'T going to happen. Those who refuse to adapt are going to be left behind.

This is a chance to propel video poker into the future and secure an opportunity for smart players to make a good living sitting on their asses in front of a machine, in a lovely air conditioned environment. It beats the horror of a real job. Those who are used to playing quarter video poker with a bankroll of $5000 or less, need a serious attitude adjustment, or they're going to be in for a rude awakening. It's going to be a Brave New Video Poker World, and 1984 was a long freaking time ago.

(Incidentally, I notice the outdoor marquee sign now says "up to 104%", heh)

I think a better way to explain the disconnect is this:

Frank says he has rarely if ever had a losing month. So from Frank's
perspective, if he has, let's say 9 losing days followed by a winning day
where he hits the royal and that pattern repeats, he's perfectly happy
with that since each winning day rates to make up for the losing days,
given the math of the situation (I'm pulling the 1-in-10 figure out of
the air, so just look at the broad strokes here  )

For a local with an adequate bankroll, your perspective ought to be
the same (again, mathematically; I realize there are psychological
components here).

But for a tourist who only comes every month or two, 9 losing sessions
followed by a winning session may mean that winning session only comes
around once every year or more (depending on frequency of play etc.).

Now, the tourist's long-term expectation, if they stuck with it, would
still be more positive doing this than playing $1 DB instead. However
most people wouldn't want to put up with a year or two of losing
punctuated only occasionally by the trip where you are the lucky one
to hit the progressive.

Having said that, to those who think "I'd rathern play FPDW or DB because
I don't want to have to rely on a longshot royal to make up my losses" --
have you ever actually gone into FVP (or whatever software you use) and
looked at what the ER contribution of the royal is? Unless you're playing
one of Mickey's hidden treasures, you're *always* relying on the royal to
make up your lossses; that's pretty much the point of video poker.
