Searching for an old friend-XVP

I love the internet! Yesterday I played backgammon
online and an opponent asked me where I was from and
we started using the chat feature when he told me he
was from Rio de Janeiro. I explained that I had
already asked some online bridge players and one
Brazilian LVA member to try to locate an old friend
with no success. I gave him some of the particulars,
think the key was remembering his mother's maiden
name, Phillips. My friend had an English grandfather
that I met a few times. Even though I was misspelling
his last name (hey, it's been 53 years since I saw
him!) I received this email last night. Btw, Edmundo
is a police officer which apparently gives him access
to some good data bases.

Good Morning Joe.
I saw a light at end of tunnel, lol. I found JOSE
ROBERTO CONCELHOS, son of JOSE COCELHOS and MARY
ELIZABETH PHILLIPS CONCELHOS (pay attention in fact
that father name is COCELHOS and mother name is
CONCELHOS with "N", it made my mind confused),
borned 11/November/1940, married, last update in
1972 (sorry about that - third world police, you
know). I searched for a man between 55 - 75 years
old, named CONCELHOS, when i would search a man
between 55 - 65 years old, the system became out of
order. Monday I will try again in Police
Departament, it will be faster.
Hope see you soon.
Edmundo
