seafood in NOLA and Biloxi - etc.

Just had a trip to NOLA and Biloxi MS and absolutely no problems with
getting lots of great food including plenty of fresh seafood. Where
restaurants are having a lack of a certain food, they are getting other supplies from
places like elsewhere in Louisiana, etc.

Please feel free to visit since these places need our tourist dollars.
Biloxi has absolutely no oil on the beaches - they are in kind of a bay and
have no tar balls or anything.

Service, as usual, was outstanding.

I noticed a bit less of a crowd than usual in Harrah's NOLA, which was good
for me since I had no problem getting on my favorite 3/5 play $1 NSU
machines, and other VP machines also were available. The cutback in "capping"
(closing off of machines) has also been a great help, and you can now find
very few machines closed down. Thank goodness!

I also was lucky in Biloxi to finally hit on a Pinball Slot machine and get
all 5 balls down on the bottom - a jackpot I've been trying for since I
first played on a pinball machine years ago - jackpot 1675 coins. Wee...

Great food, great service, and winning some money to take home - nice!

I agree with misscraps re: Biloxi. The service at every property last week was outstanding. Biloxi is becoming my favorite gaming destination particularly with the high cost of airfare from Florida to Las Vegas.

In today's Gulf Coast paper, there's a photo of BP contract workers cleaning oil residue off the beach in nearby Bay St. Louis

Could you please tell me what you are playing ? My impression is that over the past few years Biloxi has almost dried up as far as good VP games are concerned.

Sure. I play VP exclusively. 9/6 DDB and sometimes 8/5 DDB. Now before all the pros jump in my stuff for the pay schedules let me reiterate. I go for entertainment, good food reasonable, and a fair gamble at comfortable properties. That is what I feel I get. Compare...airfare from Orlando to Las Vegas right now is about $350pp. Comped room and discount food. I can drive the 500 miles to Biloxi and back for about $200. By taking some friends along to help share the cost (and I like them all and enjoy their company) my fuel cost is about $70 per couple. Comped room, comped food...sounds like a reasonable get away to me. Last 3 trips this spring net gain of approx. $1500. Nice vacation. I like it....
