SD Oct. 2007 signs of competition?

Finally - some promotions worth competing for.
With (more) projects/expansions on the future horizon,
pending CA legislation and voters....there's some
good competition heating up in So. CA...

BONUS PTS:
Sycuan has had ongoing 3x pts days (9am - 9pm).
At .125% cb or comps, that's .375% marginal play.

VIEJAS - however at .2%, is trying a MONSTER promo:
24/7 ALL of OCTOBER 5x pts. That is a HUGE 1% on some
decent playable games.

NOTE: Multi-line vp and $1 and up only gets .1%;
Still - at 5x pts = .5% decent cb/comps return.

BARONA now has a 3-level 'mini-version' of the Jumbo Jackpots called
POWER PAYOUTS - for machine players.
3 levels $250-500, $10k - $25k, and $150-250K

this is in direct competition with Valley View's ONGOING $10-150k
Colossal Coin mystery jackpot.

BOTH could hit on any machine at any time ; Make sure you have your
players card inserted....

VV is also experimenting with a THURSDAY only promo in October;
Supposedly will honor OTHER casino cash coupons;

Are you talking about the regular cashback rate, or the Elite card rate?
Elites get .2% for VP. Do they get 5X?

ELITES will get the same 5x rate for OCTOBER only,
not 2x rate. Check with a host, if you have one.

My neighbor's giving it a try today (10/2), although he's mainly a Pot-0-Gold,
progressive chaser. I'll let you know if I find out anything else...

I hope it isn't TOO much for them. 31 days at that rate seems to be a pretty big step for them.

This one seems especially "competitive" as they are honoring other
casinos coupons and will pay double for them. Here's the quote from
their website:

Valley View has DEFINITELY worked the 'kinks' out of this promotion.
NOTE: There are TWO basic lines - ONE is for ELITE (higher tier)
members only - that is in a special AREA set up to the RIGHT of where
the slot club counter is. ALL other members should wait in those
lines. There is now a slot club mgr or supervisor directing 'traffic'.

Mon-Thurs BONUS MorePlay can be drawn from the barrel (you need to
have the postcard/coupon) which has now been moved by the new curved
bar with the stage/entertainment area.

This has definitely been a good draw from MANY parts of
Riverside/Orange County; I met quite a few with coupons from various
casinos out there (Pechanga, Pala, and even Morongo).

This is probably an experiment THIS month only;
so enjoy it while it lasts, and good luck!
Remember - it is only for 'Moreplay' (their version of freeplay).

I just noticed yesterday in my mailer that, like Valley View, Pala is also cashing coupons from other casinos in October. However, as with their own coupons, the usual limitation applies of one coupon in a 24 hour period.

yeah but the difference was that Pala will just cashed them for
their face value. Valley View was doubling them. have you received
a mailer from Pala for November? Are they still cashing other
coupons? I wonder if Viejas will continue their point promotion
next month. For all those that play in that area.

My November Pala mailer does not mention cashing coupons from other casinos. And you're right, Valley View doubles each one in free play, in October on Thursdays only. Pala will cash them only at face value, up to one each day of the week, also October only.
   
  PS I called Harrahs this evening and was told that the casino and hotel won't open until perhaps Sunday.
