Thanks Gamb00ler for researching this problem and finding a correct solution.

Those who are composing their vpFREE posts with Outlook Express and
have "Smart Quotes" turned on will have a lot of weird characters
appear in their posts. Those who get individual emails from vpFREE
probably see nothing wrong, but most if not all those who read the
Group messages on the web will see these characters.

Instructions for Outlook Express users to turn off the characters
(Smart Quotes) are in the link above in the last paragraph of
Annoyance No. 9.

I, for one, do NOT see the weird characters when I read Scot's messages on
Yahoo.com.
