In the opening scene Ace Rothstein walks out of a building and is headed to his car. Do you know where the scene was filmed?

Very Good, Scott. I have this up on another site and you are the first to guess right. It probably wasn't a guess on your part at all. The Frank Rosenthal car bombing in 1982 happened at Tony Roma's on East Sahara.

I was in Las Vegas in the winter of 1994 when the movie was being filmed. I remember several times they had streets blocked off downtown to film scenes. I think Scorsese used Main Street Station in the car bombing scene because the sign above the side exit to Main Street that De Niro used said "TONY ROMA'S A Place For Ribs." And you can see it in the movie.

Main Street Station was shut down at the time the movie was filmed. Some guy had invested a lot of money remodeling the place but was only open for maybe six months. One of the dumb moves he made was paying even money on blackjack. Eventually, Boyd bought it and built a skywalk between the California Club and Main Street.

Am I remembering correctly that most of the Stardust scenes in Casino were actually shot across the street at the Riviera?
