Was at Boulder station the other morning for free play and a walk through to
the back of the poker room to see if any new free poker magazines and get a
dirty look like usual from the poker room manager because I never play, just
get the free magazines. On my way back I passed by a double row of machines
right opposite Burger King... BTW, I heard CML is going to be sold to Burger
King, and saw two Station tech's changing both a chip and configuring paytables
for probably new machines. I have bad eyes so one thing I noticed was the
Double Bonus top choice was "100.1%". They do seem to round down don't they?
[the guy choose the 3rd from top paytable] They both looked like Station
employees, no Gaming people in sight yet one of them was changing chips, eproms,
big old ones like they used in mid 80's He wasn't real careful about
grounding himself when handling them either. Chips of that vintage sometimes had
built in static protection sometimes not. One little invisible static spark and
the chip is fried or weakened for a later breakdown. One foot on the casino
carpet both hands on the chip pins, a major invisible lightning storm for the
chip. I was going to ask the guy configuring the paytables to choose "Full Pay"
on the Caveman Keno game but he seemed so busy.
