I'm attempting to answer some of Whitejeeps questions.

Does one have a skating rink?

Santa Fe Casino used to have an indoor skating rink. After Station
Casinos bought them, the rink was moved to Fiesta Rancho, now also
owned by Stations.

I also went to a wedding at a casino that had a golf course,
I believe out there. But not sure.

Suncoast Casino is practically surrounded by golf courses, but they
don't own any of them.

Do you anything about Cannery. I believe I can get rooms there from
my local casino in Pennsylvania. I've been there about a 100 yrs ago.
Is it any good?

Both the Cannery and Eastside Cannery Casinos have the same owner as
the Meadows in Pa. Eastside has some good 25c and under video poker.

I thought about Grand Canyon? maybe too many miles.

You can take a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas.
Much quicker than driving.

I think there used to be a big flea market near Nellis.
I wonder if still there. Also used to be small indoor
one somewhere near Palace Station.

I've heard of the big flea market near Nellis but haven't been there
myself. The Fantastic Indoor Swapmeet is still open on Decatur Blvd.
between Sahara and Charleston. Went there once and was disappointed.

A good resource for all things Las Vegas is the Las Vegas Advisor website at

Thanks for reply. Checked on the wedding and was not in casino. it was associated with golf course or near there. Another wedding in Vegas, went with the couple downtown to get license. They got their license. Quicker than I can get a dog license in Pa. Years later when they split up, I heard the groom say, "got license in 10 minutes, pretty easy. Took year to get rid of license.

They got married in at IP. Took 1/2 hr about. They were gambling 15 minutes after wedding.

Appreciate info .....Cheers.

A couple of items I didn't see others post:

Terry Fator, Jersey Boys - both great shows

And if you're an adrenaline junkie...try the Skyjump off Stratosphere tower. I found it just as thrilling/scary as real skydiving.
