I have one ticket (sitting next to me) for Saturday night's 9 PM Reba
McEntire show at the Hilton. Any taker? Dutch for dinner?

Lucky you. I heard her show is fantastic. I also heard she's active in the
Make A Wish Foundation and might show some vid clips, will have you in tears.
If it's at the Hilton theater then I worked backstage for the CES Keynote
thingie. I had a solo bicycle accident yesterday and can't walk at all because of
the swelling in my knee. Knees are brakes. I don't know if I'll be better by
Sat or not so, hope you find somebody.

Her show is really good. We saw it and thought she was much, much better than when we saw her on tour at Mandalay Bay.

The difference was her attitude. When I saw her at Mandalay Bay, it was the opening night of the "Girls Night Out" tour (with Martina McBride and two 'emerging artists'). We expected there to be a lot of energy and enthuasiasm, but Reba seemed as though she didn't want to be there and was just going through the motions. If it had been the end of a long tour, we wouldn't have appreciated, but we would have understood her attitude. At opening night, it was very disappointing.

Based on her performance at the Mandalay Bay show, we would not have paid to see her again.

Fortunately, we were given the opportunity to have comped seats during the first week of her show at the Hilton. What a difference! She was animated, engaging and seemed genuinely excited to be there. Her singing of course was wonderful, but she demonstated that she's taking her live act to the next level and becoming the type of solid live entertainer that I'm willing to spend money to see.
