Sandia Casino in Albuquerque

Jean, there is an outside chance you could find something in the Albuquerque area. There has been stuff there in the past. I haven't been down there in some years but there was stuff there. I didn't find anything in Sandia but that was when they were still in the tent on the west side of I-25. They have a brand new casino on the eastside of the freeway now.

North of Sandia, maybe 15 miles up I-25 is Bernalillo. There is a little casino there called the Santa Ana Star, I think. It had linked and unlinked flush attack. They are probably gone now due to old age but it makes me think this casino is worth surveying. You may find a few bonus machines there also.

Isleta is on the southside of Albuquerque down I-25. At one time this place had 9/6 Jacks progressive with a very strong meter. It also had full pay unlinked flush attack. 8/5 is full pay but one of the machines was paying 6 for 1 on a regular flush but the payscale showed only 5 for 1. It came in at around 103.2% and was kept a secret by pros who knew about it.

There is also a casino maybe 20 miles west of Albuquerque on I-40. I have been told it has strong cashback but I know nothing of the VP inventory.

Albuquerque is one of those places I have been meaning to get back to to survey out, but just haven't found the time yet. But I will. Good Luck.

I have been told it has strong cashback but I know nothing of the VP
inventory.

Another post jogged my memory. Route 66 is the name of this casino.
I've never been to the casino at the racetrack either so know nothing
about it. Good Luck.

Sandia Casino is 7 miles from my home, and Santa Ana is another 8 miles North. I haven't started to play VP yet (still lurking!), but I have looked at machines to some degree. Sandia has a huge advantage in terms of location, compared to the other 4 casinos within 25 miles of Albuquerque (Mickey didn't mention San Fillippe 10 miles North of Santa Ana). The really big casinos are Isletta, 15 miles from my home, South, and Sandia. As to VP, Santa Ana has TIVO, including at least one penny 100-hand multiplaying machine. I suspect that Santa Ana is a real gold mine, since it has only Rio Rancho at location advantage, so they must compete on the merits with Sandia. So I'm guessing Sandia is most mediocre as to VP (excellent as to live poker), and Santa Ana has some real opportunities, but I haven't viewed Santa Ana in those terms. I KNOW Sandia doesn't need to compete...

As to live poker, they all have it except San Fillippe. Rooms at Route 66 and Sandia are outstanding. Sandia floats 1 or 2 no limit $1/2 tables, during busy times. Route 66 struggles, concerning its poker room (but the room is truly exceptional - too bad they just can't figure out how to get folks to travel the 25 miles they are from Albuquerque!).

Thanks to all who answered, on the list and privately. This forum is wonderful!!!! It looks like we will be "resting" most of the time we are there!
