Through December 28 (at least), Barona Casino is offering a good play
for new members of their player's club. I believe it's only open to
residents of San Diego County. Here's the deal:
1. Sign up and receive a Club Barona card.
2. Insert the card while you play any machine for at least two hours
and up to the first 24 hours after signing up.
3. Return to the Club booth and receive either:
A. Up to $100 matching your net win, or
B. Up to $100 recouping your net loss
I called and you do get the money right away; no waiting for them to
mail you a voucher that you have to take back or anything like that.
So, it's basically a no-risk chance to win up to $200. I guess if you
lose, you have also lost your time and travel expenses. But if you
like to play slots or video poker at all, this is about as good as it
gets.
Here's how I would play it:
I'd play for almost two hours at a small denomination video poker
machine. Then I'd switch to one of their best $1 video poker machines
and bet full: $5 per hand. Then I'd play until I'd either won or
lost $100 overall. You could stop if you win less than $100, say $60
and they'd double it with another $60, but you're basically playing
with a huge advantage in that you can't lose if you stop at -$100.
Any ideas on improving this play? Concerns?
Thanks,
Jim
