We are making a 9 day trip for our 40th wedding anniversary to
Laughlin, Sedona AZ and Las Vegas. We typically visit LV 3-5 times a
year and while I have been to Laughlin my wife hasn't so that'll be
a new experience for her. For the LV portion of the trip we decided
to seek out a new casino to stay and play.
We are knowledgable and experienced $1 VP players and the strip
properties no longer offer the 99+% games we seek out, so I examined
all the great input from players in this forum and we decided to try
Sam's Town on this next trip. I contact a host whose name was
mentioned positively in a trip report and he was indeed most
gracious. After I honestly described our play ($1 VP with $12,000 to
$16,000 coin through each day) and our long standing 9 year history
at a major strip property he playfully chided me for not visiting
Sam's Town in the past. He went on to describe the Sam's Town
property and gaming in great detail and after a very pleasant 20
minute conversation he offered to comp our room for this initial 3
night visit, and said the room would have a nice view of the nightly
laser show (which I assume is a plus?).
After dealing with the structure and pompousness we now see at the
strip large corporate properties it was refreshing to be treated in
such a friendly manner by a host who didn't know us. We're looking
forward to our visit to Sam's Town and it may wind up becoming out
casino of choice on future visits.
