I noticed that Coast is charging sales tax when you use
their 1/2-price-with-points buffet promotion that started
recently. Otherwise if you use a coupon that covers the
entire pre-tax food bill, they correctly aren't charging
any tax.

Unfortunately, many casinos in NV still charge tax on comps despite
the fact that it is unlawful to do so. I misplaced the link to the
NRS tax codes showing this to be true. Even printing it out and
showing it to the casino employees has been a waste of time. They
will just say "this is the way we do it", or "the computer has been
set up this way". I do not know if the casino fowards the tax to the
state or not. If they do not, then if someone took the trouble to
file a lawsuit, they could make a lot of waves. If they do turn it
over, then the state really doesn't have much incentive to enforce
the law as it will cost them revenue. TomSki

Hi all the great people of this yahoo group!
I have a question about the quarter video poker at harrah's last time I was there they had two banks of twelve machines with signs above them that said 99% return and they paid $100 for for aces I think. Are these still there? The database doesn't say anything about them? Are they really not 99% return?
