I was out all day so was curious when I saw the site had over 70 messages in
my mailbox.
I did not know Joanie and Eliot that well but have seen them on and off over
the years on the "VP circuit". It was just within the last year in the small
area of the Tuscany registration bar where I saw them and was able to converse
a bit.
Joanie was thrilled that I remembered that she was the "first" person to hit
the dealt RF on a 3x 25c Progressive at the Orleans and since the property had
not spelled out the reward clearly, they ended up paying her the progressive
amount and the separate three amounts given for each line.
In this small encounter, Eliot was so kind and matter a fact to bring me up
to par as to what constituted the minimum play to get the maximum coupon value
of $40/week. In addition, there was a card of the day and a regular or
premium wine promo which he readily gave me the pros and cons.
It is rare that someone gives up these positive angles so freely. In fact,
the Tuscany play could only be made at the registration bar which at the most
seated maybe 15 players. With their kind information and my tenacity meant
that I would be there on those optimum days taking up one of those spaces. This
was most generous of them.
I offer my condolences to Joanie on Eliot's passing and the many responses
are a tribute to his reputation.
