Sad but understandable what took place at the Santa Fe. Although its
obvious the Station casino Corp. makes more money than god, WITH or
WITHOUT offering full-pay games, they just cant stand loosing on the
1% of they're total gaming invetory. There were two factors in play
at the Santa Fe. First, evreytime I drove the ten light years from
Henderson to play there, almost evrey (if not EVREY) machine was
taken. And Id guess 95% of these were a FPfree or BDC flea hammering
away at the jokers. Second, Station casinos as a whole are growing
less and less tolerant of advantage players. Frankly Im surpsised
they (and the 1175$érs at the Fiesta Rancho) lasted as long as they
did. Whether you choose to believe the undeniable reality or not,
that bank was loosing more and more money evrey year as more and
more profiecient players began burning them down. And yes, the last
couple of years I noticed more and more burn-out artists plowing
away there. The worst part about this is as more advantage plays
fall, the more pressure will be put on the remaining positive plays.
Make no mistake about it, ALL the optimum play banks at evrey
Station and Fiesta are (and have been) on the endangered species
list. It cant be said enough: THE LARGER THE KNOWLEDGEABLE PLAYER
BASE, THE SMALLER THE POSITIVE PLAYS! Thats the undeniable truth,
not the rubbish Rob Singer puts out. Ironicly, in 5 years or so,
Mr.Singer's 'romp through town'strategies will actually be the way
to go because it'll mean playing less hands. Its not 1985 anymore
folks. Unless you've already made a killing when the getting was
good (like Bob Dancer and the young meth addict with the ipod and
backwards hat), Id suggest you become a burn-out artist to some
degree. At this point, it really doeant matter because like Mr.Crimm
said, its going to be burned down anyway so break out the blow
torches! BTW, does anybody still beleive the MYTH of whenever a play
dies another one pops up? Better start fine tuning your 9/7 DB
skills!
Sad Indeed

Well, it certainly isn't a myth that the Suncoast added Optimum Play
machines this year. It's not like anyone forced them, but someone in
management had to make the decision. I have yet to see all the
machines in use, at least during the day when I visit.
It's a crazy business. I still can't figure out why Red Rock has the
Optimum Plays, but doesn't offer quarter 9/6 JOB.

Hmmmm? Isnt a myth? 5cent 10-play jokers at Santa Fe? Gone. 101%
FPJW
at Fiesta Rancho? Gone. Last remaining full-pays at Binions? Gone.
Those were just in the last month. Check LVSummary&Index to see even
more slashings the past 2 years. Since then then we've added two
optimum banks at Suncoast? Big WOW! The only reason these are still
in
play is because unlike the Orleans the super full-pay loose dueces
arent offered. Ill give the Suncoast optimums 3 months tops,
depending
how many northwest ex-Sante Fe fleas make Suncoast their new home.
Lets face it, slot managers, casinos bosses and slot floor directors
are way more savy of what pay tables offer what advantage. I beleive
we'll see more and more slot directors take the zero tolerance
stance
when it comes to full-pay games. The notion of new plays popping up
when old ones get torched is nothing but a pipe dream to the
foolishly
optimistic!

I admit my example was a minor win in a losing war. Like I said, the
Suncoast didn't HAVE to add the machines, but they did.
But it got me to thinking: what if there were NO positive plays?
None. Zero. What are we all going to do? Stop playing forever?
I certainly hope that doesn't happen in the time frame you suggested
in your original post. But if it did, I know I could still play 9/6
Jacks and 8/5 Bonus and at least find it enjoyable, albeit long term
negative.
