Sachem Requirements

Does anyone have any idea what the requirements are for Sachem?

I think I had heard at one point it was double the Sagamore requirement, but I'd appreciate info from someone who might know for sure.

Thx

Hi,

As a newbie to the forum I would also be interested in a "refresher" to the levels of play it takes to reach VIP levels, etc... at MS.

Thank you in advance to anyone who posts a reply.

Mike

P.S. From reading past forum postings, I realize that it is not as cut and dried as dollars in, but variables such as type of machine played, VP vs. Slots, etc... are taken into account when rating a player for comps... this may be a dumb question, but I keep seeing "theo" in posts and do not know what this is short for or refers to, so if anyone could enlighten me, it would be appreciated.

See "Theo" In the Glossary:

Wolf requires 1000 points or 140K in on VP every 6 months. That number can be reduced by playing on double point Tuesday's.

Sagamore requires 2000 points or 280K in on VP every 6 months. Again that can be reduced by playing on double point Tuesday's.

As Mel said, Sachem is based more on theo and your host needs to put you in for it. The numbers need to be greater than Sagamore and I think the lowest theo I have heard is around 1500 for Sachem (it might be higher)

Theo is your theoretical loss. If a casino figures that VP has a 5% theo and you play 100K, your theo is 5000.

On the following Web page, benefits for Wolf and Sagamore are on the top of the page; amd points required are on the bottom.

For some reason Sachem is not even listed

So basically there are very little benefits to being a higher tier. As for me personally it only seems to be acccess to the lounges. BTW is access free or are pts. deducted ?
As far as free rooms I get offers all the time.
Reserved parking? What difference does it make as to which level you park in the garage ?

Am I missing some "unspoken" benefit ?

For Sagamore, rooms are virtually always free; perhaps 1 or 2 days per month in the Summer, when there is a big show there may be a nominal charge.
All shows, including some that are "private events" are free to Sagamores. Also many special events such as the Calhoun & Gossage dinners are, I believe only open to Sagamore/Sachem.
The lounges are always available (except for fire safety regs) and no points are deducted.
The parking is a reserved area on the second floor in one garage, I forget which one, tho I think a second garage I have never used also has a reserved area. As for what difference it makes, If you have CRS (Can't Remember S#!+) as I do, it eliminates walking around trying to remember where the heck I parked the car. ; O

Thank you to all who have posted and shared their knowledge in this thread.

If I understand correctly, wolf and Sagamore are based on points alone, but Sachem is dependent on one's theo, so level of play will have an impact, but is not the lone deciding factor.

A couple of follow up questions that came to mind were.

If I am reading MS's website correctly, ratings are currently based on level of play every 6 months.

Does anyone know or have practical experience of how long after the "point counter resets to zero" on Oct. 1st would one have time to build points during the new 6 month period towards the Wolf and Sagamore Club membership without losing their current status?

Also, I've never been in one of the VIP lounges, can someone give an idea of the atomosphere and benefits available inside these lounges.

Thanks again and Royals to All,

Mike

The lounges are nice decent buffet with a carving station and shrimp cocktail and of course free booze. It can get crowded and some times you have to wait to get into one of the lounges. The sky casino lounge is my favorite (more spacious as it was recently renovated)
Each 6 month period your level of play is reset to zero. Your balance will remain the same and you will not lose any points just have to earn the benefits all over again by achieving the tier levels.

You just start off at zero, and there is no loss of tier status during the next six-month accumulation period.

The three available lounges vary in size: the one next to the Wolf Den is usually very crowded and has cold cuts, shrimp cocktail and some Chinese dishes. I generally steer clear of that one.
The lounge in the high limit slot area is smaller and quieter, with the cold cuts fruit, shrimp, soup and a couple of hot dishes. The food is somewhat more limited, but it is usually less crowded than the largest lounge which is:
By the large mountain next to the high limit tables. The food here consists of a couple of hot dishes, soup, a carving station at dinner time, shrimp, cold cuts, salads, soup, desserts. This one can get crowded, but it is the one we usually hit. It also has a pretty nice breakfast buffet, and is generally not crowded for breakfast.

Depending on what they happen to be serving on any given day, you can actually make a pretty decent meal at dinner time if you care for their hot entrees. If you enjoy cold cuts on small rolls, you can always do fine for lunch. And I do enjoy the breakfasts.

Booze is free in all three lounges, subject of course to CT's ridiculous liquor laws which ends service at 12:30 AM during the week & 1:30 on weekends. The liquor is high-end, Johnny Walker Gold, or a choice of a few single malt scotches, for example. They have Grey Goose and other name brands, as well as a decent assortment of liqueurs.

Seating is somewhat limited, but USUALLY people will share a table or couches for 4, if you ask nicely (or maybe if you just happen to be a personable, warm wonderful human being, as I am) <GRIN>

Hi,

Thanks again to all, special thanks to steve des and Guru Perf for their detailed reviews of the lounges and their offerings.

One last question regarding the lounges do they have decent wine offerings available - curious as the wife loves her wine. :o)

Again, I'm glad I came across vpFREE_NewEngland as it is really nice to have a forum to learn from others who are willing to share their knowledge and experience at MS, which will make my more frequent visits to MS more comfortable. Add in a bit of luck and big enough bankroll, more profitable and mayble I'll be able to see some friendly "vp" faces in the lounges. <G>

All the best,
Mike
