Got a postcard from the River Palms:

OOPS! We goofed -

"Let me explain - our River Palms free play offer was presented incorrectly.
Because of the error we're throwing out the intended old offer and
giving you an even better one!
Stay any 3 days December 1-27, 2008 and you'll receive River Palms free
play each day up to 3 days.
You can use this offer up to 4 times in December"

Yea right! I had 4 X $360 = $1440 total
So now I get 4 X 3 X $30 = $360 total

Fine print: "Complimentary room, show and event offers are a courtesy
and based on your expected level of play."

So I guess your past play doesn't count?

I knew I had trouble grasping the 4x4x$90 concept. We knew something was not
right. But what is this new "expected level of play" clause they are using?
Are they expecting a certain daily coin-in to activate the next day's
free-play? Are they going to charge you for your rooms if you take a couple of play
days off? This could get ugly in a hurry.

So that generous offer was just a mistake. I must say $1,440 of free
play in a month is mighty generous sounding to me. I was seriously
toying with taking a working vacation and spending the whole month of
December in Laughlin. They are shooting themselves in the foot by
adding one of those expected levels of play clauses. They will end up
getting far fewer people to take them up on the deal including a number
of very good gamblers. People don't like having that hanging over
their head, the threat that it could be an ugly confrontation upon
checkout, who needs that. Especially since most offers don't have ugly
clauses like that and most people have a choice of offers. My attitude
is if you don't like my level of play then downgrade my offers on the
next visit or cut me off altogether but don't offer me a maybe I get it
maybe I don't type of comp situation.
