You have to hand it to the River Palms in that they send out their monthly
mail at least with a 30 day lead-in. Does anyone have a clue how they figure
what to send you? Stuff like is it a daily average or so much action during a
given period?
Their three bars might have something playable based on the meters. Each bar
has their own TITO/flatscreen progressives, so look at all of them. The best
base game is Jacks 8/6, but the meters move fairly quickly maybe at .5%. I
have taken a liking to the ill-named Pirate Cove bar downstairs. It is roomy,
has six flat screen TVs, improved beer selection, quiet and is great for
people watching including the cocktailer service area. Remember this bar had worse
VP in the coin-clunker days with only Jacks 8/5 with a progressive royal.
Now if they would just spring for the premium sports packages for their fine
array of TVs.
Hamstockman and I did the Wincard promo last trip. Just go to the main cage
and give them $10 for $15 in pink promo chips. Dig out the $1 dealer tip
coupon. You can do this promo every six months according to the friendly cashier.
No need to visit the slot boothlings. We played roulette for the ease of
use. It was a $2 minimum, which Hamstockman played black. I was bold and bet
$5 on odd for the duration. First spin...31/Black which payed off all three of
us. I walked a net $10 winner and Hamstockman up $3. It is a fun low-roller
promo.
RP moved the Bingo Hall back to the comedy showroom. Java Joe's seems to be
doing just fine. They still have the self-serve grated cheese/yellow
onion/sliced jalepenos for your chili dog.
It looks like the coffee shop is once again the late night food option with a
limited graveyard menu. That all-night buffet could get nasty by 5am.
Always study up on the kiosk driven low roller food coupons. Hamstockman got to do
55+ club slot tourney they do on Wednesday. I am not old enough anymore, but
I am still "young at heart".
