I know how long the droughts can be between royals, spanning more than a few
cycles worth of hands...
But I've been playing pretty constantly for 21 months now and that first
quarter royal has still eluded me. I've done about 40,000 hands in the last
two months alone, and my gambling records have been incomplete in 2006 and
2007 but by my guesstimate I'd say I'm somewhere in the neighborhood of
120,000-150,000 hands total at this point, about 90% FPDW, 7% JoB and 3% DB.
I'm not sweating it too hard because I've been fairly well overdeuced, and I
know the royals will even out in the long run, but it's still sorta
depressing. I'm just curious, how long did it take you all to pop your
royal cherry?
(Disclaimer: I'm not entirely royal-free, I hit a $400 royal at Boulder
Station and have drawn three penny royals on the Palms 50-play - all three
when holding less than four cards to the royal - of course, the last time I
got dealt four to the royal on that machine, it connected 0 out of 50
times. Thanks for nothing, bub.)
