Royal without max bet

The question is this:

Have you ever witnessed someone (or God forbid, yourself) hitting a
royal flush with fewer than max coins bet? What was the reaction?

The reaction is absolute "horror". About 15 years ago my cousins and I got
together in Vegas for family reunion and my poor cousin Carlos was short on cash
so he was playing one quarter at a time and hit a royal. He was sick to his
stomach and said he wished he had not even been playing. When we all got back
to Los Angeles at my Aunt's birthday everyone talked about it and poor Carlos
turned red from embarrassment from everyone saying "why didn't you just go play
max coins on nickel vp?

About 4 years ago, my mom did the same thing in Laughlin, and our friend Ron
(only a table game player) was sitting next to her and he goes "Wow you hit a
royal, these machines aren't a total ripoff!" My mom smugly replied, "I only
had one quarter in". Ron says "Damm it Nancy, Are you crazy? Why didn't you
have the max in you can afford it?" Mom replies, "I allready lost $1500 on this
trip and we have only been here 2 days and we're not leaving until tomorrow".
Ron says "I told you , you should be playing blackjack". This summer we took
mom to Vegas and went to visit Ron, who moved to Vegas last year, and mom says
she wants to go to the casino, Ron replies "Hey Nancy are you still playing VP
with one coin in?" Mom says "SHUTUP RON", Ron says ok let's go play blackjack
and off they went to Sam's Town.

Moral of the story is:
You never live it down and your friends never let you forget hitting a royal
with less than max coins bet.

Play max coins,
Liz
