A friend of mine was able to use a Rio coupon to get a room Jan. 2-5 (4
nights) at Rio. I'm sure Diamond or 7 stars probably could book some rooms.
During peak times like CES for last minute rooms try -- downtown hotels,
Excalibur, Circus Circus, Sahara, Stratosphere, Orleans, Gold Coast, or further
out ones like Stations, Lake Las Vegas. Even Primm isn't really all that far
out. Also motels often have rooms. Sometime you are told rooms are booked,
but when you arrive or a day before you can find rooms are actually
available at places like Circus Circus. Downtown hotels would be the first place I
would call around too. Last place to call is Las Vegas Hilton or Venetian
which are close to convention areas!
