I have been reading the posts daily for a couple of months now and
feel like I know all of you. I am glad some of the arguing is
finally stopping, it was getting a little tiresome. We have been
planning a trip to Las Vegas for awhile and will be coming on May 13-
19. What is the date of the lunch for the group in May and where will
it be? We had booked our rooms at NYNY this time. Coming with my
daughter and son-in-law..their first trip, and they wanted to stay
there. We got casino rate, but they didn't. Since making the original
reservations, my husband and I both received offers in the mail fron
NYNY for rooms at a better discount. I called back and was able to
change our reservation, but they wouldn't let me change my daughters.
Has anyone ever been booked in two different hotels at the same time
in Las Vegas. I've been considering trying to get booked at Harrahs
since I have free rooms, in order to save them money and let them
have my cheaper rooms but it might be too late now. Would that be
unethical? I'm going to try one more time to talk to someone about
letting me take advantage of my husbands offer also and change the
second reservation so the four of us can stay at the same hotel for
the discounted price, but just wondered if anyone had gone thru
anything similar.
My son-in-law is wanting to go biking at Red Rock. We are trying to
figure out if he would be better off to go on a tour or should he
just rent a car and we could just use for a couple of days. Usually
we just use other ways of getting around in Las Vegas. After hearing
you talk about all the places the locals play I am wondering if it
would pay for me to rent a car to get to some of the other places to
play video poker.
I also wanted to say that I bought Linda Boyd's book "The Video Poker
Edge" and have found it very informative and useful. I think the book
is good for a beginning player as well as for someone that has been
playing for awhile. I still have trouble comprehending all the
different terms. I will be doing a lot of studying and practicing
between now and May 13. Thanks for all the information you put on
this forum daily.
Room Offers
We have booked rooms at different hotels (comped) for the same date in
the past. Our son and daughter-in-law used the second room. We
actually checked in, got the keys, and turned the room over to the
kids upon their arrival.
However, be aware that properties owned by the same company often use
the same database. Same trip: when booking a comped room at TI the
reservation clerk said, "I see you are also staying at MGM before
coming here." So know which companies own which hotels before double
booking. (The other room we double booked was Sam's Town, a Boyd
property).

There should be no problem with it.
To show your appreciation for the rooms they provided you, at least
play at both casinos. It shouldn't matter whether you give casinoA
95% and only 5% for casinoB of your total play. They'll appreciate
any play you can give them. They would rather have you stay at two
of their own properties than hearing you staying at their
competitors casinos any day of the year! Enjoy.....
(With so many friends and families who like to visit vegas,
sometimes I am obligated to not just double booked. I had to check
them all in at 3 or 4 casinos in one or two occasions - no problem.)
