Room Comps on the Strip

So does this mean that when they open the Metra-resorts–
MGM and Boyd's with their thousands of rooms that
we'll get all kinds of offers again???

That is a very good point, I hadn't even thought about all of the
decrease in supply. Palazzio and Encore will be opening soon that
should help. Sorry everyone about the previous empty posting I was
backspacing my previous entry away to do the above reply and then it
just said your comments have been posted, weird.

has lost 1000's of rooms in the last 18 months.

Stardust--Gone

Boardwalk--Gone

WestwardHo--Gone

Small place off the strip near Harrahs (Forgot the name but it was

250

rooms) -- Gone

LadyLuck (downtown) - Closed for foreseeable future.

Frontier-- Gone by end of summer last I heard

You have had RedRock and Southpoint that went up but most people

will

count those as "not the strip" and "not downtown" so are not staying
there.

At 1st no, after a bit yes. As of now we have 3000 rooms coming online
by the end of 2007 / early 2008 at the Venetian. Wynn has a bit less
coming online late 2008. With PCC and Echelon Place coming online in
2010 and the possible expansion of the Trop. Whatever comes into The
Frontier space by 2011. Then yes I see lots of cheap rooms. During
that time you might loose CC / The Riv but it will not be as big a
deal. Now, if Harrahs new owners close / demolish some of their stuff
to build an Ultra-Mega-Huge place then who knows.

Also keep in mind, the American people are fickle just as gambling /
poker has exploded in popularity it can dry up as the next fad comes
along.
