Room Comps for Locals

My wife and I play at the Suncoast daily. We've gotten lots of
discretionary comps for the buffet and the movie theatre. Over
Thanksgiving, we have family coming in and need a room for 3 days.
This will be the first time we've asked for a room comp. My
questions are:

(1) Does it matter if we ask for a room for ourselves or ask for one
for a family member?

(2) Is it reasonable to expect a full room comp based on our play
history (400,000+ points) or will we need to play during the time
we're staying in the hotel?

(3) We have not asked for any discretionary comps in the last month
or so in an effort to "bank" a lot of play. Is this necessary or
desirable?

(4) How much does the fact that it's a holiday weekend matter?

Any help gratefully appreciated.

It's our experience that you should get the room comp in your name at the
Suncoast, not your family member's name. Otherwise, they will want the
playing history of your relative. A discretionary room comp there is only
$3000 coin-in/day, so assuming you've banked that much, you shouldn't have
any problem. I don't think you should have to play right then. I have no
idea whether it's a holiday will affect any of this. Hope this helps!

Hi everyone!
   I'll be off the board for a week or so for my upcoming trip to Vegas. I may get to a computer once (if the Orleans has that Internet access people were talking about), but other than that I'm incommunicada til I return on Nov. 25 or 26.
   I'm staying Monday and Tuesday night at Harrah's Laughlin (free room offer and decent VP in a non-smoking area), coming into Vegas Wednesday for the VP Free lunch (Can't wait to meet you all!) and then spending three nights at the Orleans (discounted room offer). Look for me around town. :slight_smile:
