Casino robber strikes for fifth time in five weeks

ATLANTIC CITY - He sneaks up to his victims, pulls out a knife and forces
them into their casino hotel rooms or makes his move when patrons are
walking to
their cars in the parking garages.
He robs them, takes off and moves on to his next victims.
The man police believe was already responsible for four armed robberies at
area casinos in the past five weeks struck again.
On Friday, the same day authorities released the alleged robber's photo
taken
Thursday by a surveillance camera at Bally's Atlantic City, the man
committed
another armed robbery at about 7:40 p.m. at Harrah's Hotel Casino, said Lt.
Michael Tullio, spokesman for the Atlantic City Police Department.
Tullio said the suspect walked up to Joan Ecker and Thomas Fulloon, ages and
addresses unavailable, when they were entering their hotel room on the ninth
floor. He forced them into the room at knifepoint.
He sliced up the bed sheets and tied up Fulloon, and then stole about $145
from the man and $245 in cash and a gold ring from Ecker, Tullio said.
The suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, about 6 feet
tall and weighing 220 pounds.
No one has been seriously injured in the robberies. Authorities ask people
to
call police or hotel security if they notice someone acting suspiciously in
the hallways or near elevators.
"We are just hoping that someone sees the picture and identifies him,"
Tullio
said.
Police gave the following details of the incidents, which began April 8 at
Resorts Atlantic City. At that time, the suspect followed a 78-year-old
Philadelphia man to his hotel room, beat him, breaking one of the man's
ribs,
and took
off with $656 in the victim's casino winnings.
On April 30, the suspect threatened a 49-year-old Clifton woman at
knifepoint
at the Tropicana Casino and Resort after following her to her hotel room. He
took more than $1,600 in cash and jewelry, including a gold wedding ring and
necklace with gold charm reading 'EILEEN' in diamonds.
Then on May 7, the armed robber followed a New York City woman from the
Trump
Plaza Hotel and Casino's spa to her hotel room. He threatened her with a
knife and took $100.
And right before the latest robbery, the suspect went to Bally's on May 13,
threatened a Pennsylvania woman at knifepoint in parking garage, and took
$60
and a gold wedding ring after pushing her into her car. The victim got a cut
on
her hand from the knife and was bruised on her head and an arm.
All the robberies, except for the last one, occurred between 4 and 6:30 p.m.
The suspect faces several charges of armed robbery, along with weapons
offenses and a strong-arm robbery charge.
Police ask anyone with information regarding the robberies to call the
Detective Bureau at (609) 347-5766 or Atlantic County Crime Stoppers at

658-TIPS, which accepts anonymous information and offers rewards for tips
leading to
an arrest and conviction.

Yes. There was one guy who hit people in hotel elevators or garages of
three different casino's this spring. They got him on tape. I dont know if
they caught him, because I went to Vegas the last week in May and didnt see
the Philadelphia paper's.
I've heard about people getting mugged on the boardwalk in broad
daylight.
