I'm getting a pile of messages from I guess VPFree members, and
some even have a board-posted message within. Since I'm going to Lake
Tahoe late tonight and I won't be at a computer, a one-time summary
post on the Wynn situation would be a help.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not after apologies, congrats or that type of stuff because my
effort wasn't for those reasons. My message has always been that
everyone always and only plays in definable short-term bursts that do
not add up into one theoretical long-term session, those who win have
to be lucky, and any long-term advantage rests only with the casinos.
The people at Wynn agreed with me, and they are not rookies in the
video poker arena. This is hardly a promotion--it is a solid part of
casino ops. It's well known that the machines will be inundated with
players, and if everyone treats their neighbors with respect then they
will remain. Wynn can handle a smaller take on a few machines, esp.
with the huge increase in play they'll generate. And we're going to
talk more after an analysis is done a few months down the road. It's
also unknown what the other Strip hotels will do once word gets out via
my column in Tuesday's Gaming Today.
Someone asked what the big deal was anyway. That's kind of odd to ask,
but when I was on this forum and I'm sure even moreso today, one of the
main topics always was the complaining about no full-pay machines
and/or the reduction in inventory of them. You've never heard me
complain, and rather, I actually did something about it and I'm not
finished. Griping about it or writing poison pen articles without
trying to do something about it is of no value. A few machines now is
better than 9 less, right? Many of you don't agree with my views and/or
my play strategy, and that's fine. But I've always tried to do the
right thing without all the BS to help players lose less/win more, and
this is just another step in proving that. If someone wants to see
17/10 Loose Deuces, FPJW, All American, or Pick 'em or any other full-
pay positive game, send me a message with the exact pay table (I don't
play those games--Chief remembers) along with the denomination(s) you'd
like to play, and who knows? rsinger1111@cox.net
