Sounds like you are saying" If I can't pitch, I don't want to play"
Sort of childish!

What would the vote have been if 1/2 of the didnt matter group went
in favor and 1/2 opposed instead of all of them assigned to the
appoval vote? TomSki

It would have failed 122-114

But it's a long-standing legal doctrine that silence (in this case
indifference) can be interpreted as assent.

I am 69 years old and this is the first time in my life I have EVER
seen the undecided votes added to EITHER sides total to decide the
outcome. Seems kind of ...................?

That would be true if the vote was for either of two separate issues or
candidates. This vote was on a single issue, and there were no "undecided"
votes. The "don't cares" specifically didn't care one way or the other.
It's analogous to the silence that can be interpreted as assent.

I am also 69 years old, set up the poll, and attempted to make the
ground rules very clear:

I'll withdraw the invitation. If less than half are opposed, he will
become a "moderated member"."

"Votes that are cast for "Doesn't matter to me one way or the other"
are essentially a vote in favor of allowing RS to post in a moderated
status."

Perhaps I shouldn't have included the "doesn't matter" category, but
it gave me added insight, and those who made this choice were aware
that it was a "pro" vote, and had plenty of time to change their vote
if they wished.

The matter should not have ever been brought to a vote.
vpFREE BELONGS to Tom Sims and whatever HE wanted is what should have
happened.
