Riviera $1000 Sign Up Promo

I'm not much for these Cosmo, Tropicana, or now Riviera loss rebate offers, because you have to hope to lose in order to get anything out of them and that's not why I go into casinos. But I did go to the Riviera last night to visit their new British pub, and on the way out I won $230. So I couldn't try out the promo.

Oh I think we all can figure that one out-someone hit for a few grand on a $25 machine and management puked all over themselves!

Everyone better hit this promotion fast because I can see it going away as I type.

I'm confused... you say a player needs to "hope to lose" to get anything out of these loss rebates. What if someone ends up losing, but was hoping to win? Will they "get anything out of them"?

Rob, after rereading my post to you, I realized I probably should have added one of those winking smile face emoticons like this  Yes, I'm being a bit cheeky, but I'm also genuinely interested in your opinion here.

The point is not to lose, the point is to use the $1000 loss rebate as a means to an end (i.e., you're getting a free roll). If you win beyond a certain point it's to your disadvantage to continue playing as anything you lose once ahead you eat 100% of the loss same as any losses beyond the level of the rebate.

Variance is your friend with this. Try for a $2000 win or the $1000 loss as quickly as possible and then STOP playing. Problem is, Riv has been pounded on this already and has restricted most of the machines favorable for the rebate.

This is spot on. I was lucky enough to hit them for a $1900 profit on a $150 max bet slot machine Friday morning. By that afternoon the machine and the 3 others like it were excluded.

This thread reminds me of the time Tuna Lund got pitched out of John Ascuagua's Nugget over a loss rebate promotion. Apparently, his slot card kept falling out of the machine. LOL!

That trick probably doesn't work today.
