Hi Laughlin Group,
I have recently relocated from Southern California to Iowa. I always enjoyed driving to Laughlin and used to split our time between Harrahs and Aquarius. It looks like I can still find some decent VP at Aquarius however I sure am sorry that all the NSUD was taken out of the high limit area.
Now that I have to fly to enjoy Laughlin, I'm looking into the flight junkets Riverside offers. We are actually considering getting a group together however I'd appreciate any advice on rooms or anything else unique to The Riverside.
Thanks very much

Let me try again with thoughts about the Riverside. First attempt was feeble.
The Riverside had about five building additions over the forty years that Don has been in business. So you got low ceiling/smoky areas and tight access getting around. The south casino area is non-smoking, but not much to play anymore. They recently re-modeled the coffee-shop, the main river bar and that little service bar. The Casino West/parking garage addition is the latest, about 8 years ago. You can sneek into the North Tower rooms from the walkway.
I had bad experiences with the South tower elevators during prime time. I still remember a bellman shoving in his cart into a already crowded elevator.
Pools- two of them, but the south tower one will shut down soon. The north one is on the third floor and gets plenty of winter sunshine and offers a nice river view.
Slot Club- was a straight-forward .2% cashback and a separate comp account. Low roller play (500 points/$2.5k a trip) got you two comped weekday nights for the next visit. There was a published table for various other comps.
Pit- deals decent and usually fun games and stays open, not like several other casinos.
Car showroom- is good for an hour of fun. I have not visited my red 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS in awhile.
Promos- they have an array of deals. Through October they are doing a six-pack one. But they also like to give away money and vehicles. They tightened up their paper ticket rules for drawings, "just keep it fair".
Food- The buffet sucked. The Prime-rib room is unique with the price-fix/two entree deal with salad/dessert bar with a nice Riverview. Never did the dinnerhouse. I miss the coupon book's dog/beer special from the olden days. Coffee shop service and food has been hit or miss, but that was at least five years ago.
VP- I quit playing the Riverside seriously when they took out the FPDW and my favorite Sigma DDJ 9/6/5 games.
Flights- Suncountry's schedule used to have Riverside webpage access.
I have fond memories of the Riverside. It was the first joint to comp me a room and send me a comped birthday offer. On that birthday trip in 1999, I hit two quarter royals and was elected "King for the Day"($500/ 2 Primerib room dinners) with one drawing ticket.
