The only other casino I hit on that trip was the Riverside. Lots
more playable VP than Harrah's, but it was so quiet, and with so
few players, at times I had to look around to be sure I hadn't
ducked into a Nevada church with VP machines at the communion
rail.

After Easter and before the Riven Run is traditionally a mellow time. The
snowbirds have flown the coop and the town takes a breather.

I am curious what you played at the Riverside? There isn't much left for
quarter players unless you like smokey coin-clunkers. I know you can play NSUD,
DBDW and Deluxe in dollars on TITO platforms. You get any Riverside mail yet?

The Riverside is cluttered and junky compared to some of the other houses you
have not visited. It used to be my base in the late 1990's, but things
evolve.

Glad your first visit was a positive experience.

At the Riverside, I spent most of my time on the $1 bartop NSUD (I find bartops
comfortable to play). I did lose a little on the $1 DBDW. I was only there for a few hours -
and that was the extent of my play.

Mailers from Riverside have begun to arrive. I haven't paid too much attention to them,
because at summer air fare prices, I'm only likely to go on one of the free - travel junkets
that Harrah's offers, and the earliest upcoming one is in late August. I will check the
mailers out more carefully next time I decide to junket my way to Laughlin.

What casinos do you recommend? I play mostly at the dollar level, or quarters for multi-
line, multi-strike or STP. I usually play NSUD or decent variants of deuces wild, but also
dabble at JoB, BP and occasional others, which I still need to master. I'm getting better at
multi-strike, and find I really enjoy that platform.
