River Run

Promise to post after being there for part of the River Run. Went
to play in a video poker tournament at the Aquarius. My host told
me the Aquarius does not cater to the bikers and do not let them
park in their garage.

Well that was not true. Arrived at 8:00 PM Friday and there were
a few hundred bikes in the garage. The first free spot was on the
4th level. It seems like you make 50 turns in that garage to get
to level 4! I basically just did not move the car after parking for the first time. I did drive to Harrahs about noon on Sunday. You basically did not want to be driving on casino drive that weekend without a lot of patience. Between walking and the River taxi there
is no problem. I only walked and did notice the river taxi usually
had long lines!

We saw only a few cycles on the trip from Phoenix and back on Sunday afternoon. We must have missed any bike rush coming or going. You could really see a lot of bike gone from Laughlin by noon Sunday.
Hey, there was very little problem with the biker crowd. The only place where it was a slight problem was all elevators were usually full all weekend at almost any hour.

My main conclusion was how good this is for Laughlin. Not so much
for the gaming, but bars, restaurants and gift shops. The river
walk was always crowded, but you could always find video poker machines. Its seems like most of the biker play action might have
been at the tables. Even though the restaurants got a lot of
business, there was few waiting lines. Exception might have been
at "Pints" in the Belle. That place was very popular with customers and at almost any hour. It was open 24 hours during the weekend.

Overall, not unpleasant in anyway. Even the elevator wait was
usually worthwhile in that you got to meet and/or see some different types, but interesting and polite bikers. I visited all 8 casinos during the 3 days. Harrahs seemed the least congested. Saw a lot
of amazing bikes. Most of the parking lot display was at the
Pioneer. the normally empty bottom floor was used for a tattoo convention. During my walk through there must have been a dozen
of people either getting a new tattoo or a tattoo refresher.

I would not hesitate to go again, but do not know that I will ever
need to. It was my second short experience and the first for my
wife, so a mission was accomplished and I am glad we went.

Great trip report.
Did you make it to the Miss Laughlin River Run contest?

I went to a tatoo convention at Caesars years ago. We were there for a slot tournament as well. There was also a hacker's convention. Caesars had FPJB $1 multistrike back then. Arms are starting to itch.
