River Palms / Laughlin

Has anyone been to the River Palms in Laughlin lately? This is one
of my favorite casinos because they have lots of FPDW. I was there
in Oct 2003 last time.

The VP Database says that several of the FPDW machines are MIA
http://www.west-point.org/users/usma1955/20228/VP/L_RivP.htm

Has anyone been there very recently? Do they still have good
inventory? I'm thinking of driving to Laughlin this week.

Are there any other Laughlin casinos with good FPDW? According the
the VP Database, only the Edgewater has a good selection (other than
the River Palms). I've been to Edgewater before but never could find
the FPDW. Perhaps I was just overlooking them.

I was in Lauglin about 3 weeks ago. There were plenty of FPDW left
at the River Palms. Also at Edgewater, right near the front
entrance. There are also 2 FPDW Prog. machines hidden away, up
against a wall near the "Tower" bar.

Bryan, this may be a poor choice of a week to go to Laughlin. Unless
you are into big crowds and Harleys, stay away---River Run starts
Wednesday. Room rates go up nearly 10 fold, machines are hard to
snag, and lines for drinks and food are huge. This is the biggest
event of the year in Laughlin.

Brian,

The EW still had the three banks with FPDW. They have been there for
years. These are "Multi-Poker". You use the hold buttons to select
the game choice, a red "menu" flashes over button #5.

The RP took out four FPDW around the escalators. Go play the Game
King ones, quicker and those new comfy chairs!

Wednesdays are double point days.

Les,

"Tower Bar", you mean the "Rivers Edge" bar with 39 stations on the
long side and 3 on the short side? The three are the linked
progressive .25 triple-plays. So you are saying that the 39
indentical Game Kings with twelve games and five denominations are
not identical?

So I should look on the north end by the enterance to the hotel
towers?

BS

I doubt rates will go up as much as they have in the past this year. I have
never heard them advertise the River Run before like they are doing this
year in LV. I think they are hurting to fill up rooms.

You may be correct, but the on line reservation places say
differently. Maybe they are holding out to the last minute, but I
checked a couple of days ago, and all the places were saying they
were sold out. The Edgewater and Colorado Belle were showing room
available for Thur/Fri/Sat at $183 per night. Want to stay an extra
night or come one day earlier? Same room $21. Flamingo is showing
rooms available at $190/night. I think if you just show up, you
would probably negotiate a much better room rate. They don't want to
have any empty rooms for this event. This is big money time.

Sorry. My error. The 2 FPDW Prog. are in the Riverside.
