I recently won a jackpot, in amount of a little over $2000.
Requested--at initial contact with relevant personnel--to be paid by
check; response was that this is done ONLY for $5000+.
It has "occured to me" that my name/address/date/amount are in
casino's information system. Very probably, accessible over Internet
by any person able to either comply with, or bypass, relevant
security procedures.
Including some who might see fit to be party to a robbery . .
My specific question. Has any W2G recipient, who received payment in
currency, ever had "reason to suspect" such conduct? Especially in
the Las Vegas area? >>>
A bigger fear is identity theft.
With that info, it's a lot easier, much bigger payoff, no physical risk,
seldom punished & the victim doesn't even know it till a lot later.
