Hi all, I've noticed many people talking very negative about Sam's
Town in the last few weeks. I would just like to chime in and give
just the opposite opinion. We just got back from a thre night stay
there, and it was great again. I have never had anything but
positive experiences there. This was no exception. I've heard many
say that it was hard to get comps there, but we had no problems.
They comped our three nights, our meals, and were very friendly.
Maybe we are just lucky we have a real nice casino host that we have
been dealing with for a few years. I know the cash back is nothing
to speak about, but we did get a nice jacket for $10,000 played
through, and still got some cash back. The nice thing was it did'nt
matter how long it took to play the money through. Also, ther are
quite a few choices of full pay games to play there. Anyways, I
just wanted to let everyone know that it's not all bad at Sam's
Town, as a matter of fact, I think it's quite the opposite!!!

I agree with you. We get comped rooms through the marketing department. The only thing that I dislike about Sam's Town is the $1/day they charge for the phone even if you don't use it. Maybe the next time, a local can give me their phone number so I can get my dollars worth.

I/We also have had nothing but good experiences at Sam's town. Always our
rooms are comped, lots of food and full pay VP.

If you have found a good host at Sams Town I would like to give him a try.
I was one of the people complaining about the comp reduction there, if I could get LRFB
there again, they would go back to the top of my list.

In addition to average daily coin-in, IMHO it's important to know
what games are being played and by what percentage as well,
especially at a Boyd property where the "theo loss" system penalizes
those who only play the "good" games. As a case in point, consider
the recent post regarding comps at MSS. If I remember correctly, a
vpfree member who primarily played 10/7 DB there reported that
15k/day now barely qualified him for Silver status, whereas 10k/day
used to get him to Gold level. This apparently occured after MSS went
to the "theo" system. At the same time, some posts on LVA forums
suggest that those who play slots and a lot of short play vp at MSS
have seen no change in their comp level. So it would be most helpful
if people would also share what mix of games they are playing, not
only with regard to Sam's Town, but for all reports on comps or
marketing offers.

My experience is if you are playing the positive machines,
discretionary comps are minimal or non-existant unless you have a
loss. They appear to be fairly generous if you have a loss, but if
you are playing positive machines and have a winning trip, then
forget about any additional comps other than marketing offers.

problem getting comps. I averaged about $8,000 through per day.
