RF promo at Tuscany

I've been reading all the theories about what went on during what I call that silly four-to-the-royal promotion. I stopped in there around 3am Sat. morning. I asked the night manager how they fared, and he told me to look around....and see if looked like they had to have a garage sale anytime soon. I think I got the point.

Jean & Rick: While I do agree that the advantage players would go around constantly seeking out these promos--in effect, playing long-term rules in short-term situations--it would seem to me that since most people end up losing, royals become all the more important if you are going to ever get ahead. Then I go back to what Bob Dancer told me: He would never be where he is without the royals and his work ethic. That's why I liked his book so much. He explained that his dedication and determination--two traits I believe are absolutely necessary for anyone to have a chance of winning--have set the table for his success. But he also very clearly agreed that the royals are all luck. So in chasing promotions, I believe regardless of the theoretical EV at each one of them--which I agree is there, you gotta be lucky to come out ahead. And most aren't.

I was at Casino Monte Lago for about 3 hours Sat. night. I'm surprised people don't say more about this place. It certainly is the class of the local scene, in that the vp is better than most places and the ambience is superior to them all. Plus you can't beat the outdoor scenery if you like a deep breath of fresh air instead of exhaust fumes when you go outside after several hours of inhaling other people's smoke.

The promo ran from 10am to 10:PM. Therefore at 3:AM, it had to look
like an empty warehouse. Go there NOW, and it will still look empty
