Revel's New Approach

Hi Gang:
Hedy and I got our Revel mailings today which outline its July "You Can't
Lose" offers, but the thing that struck me the most was the thrust of the
package.
The outside of the foldout features the words "Gamblers Wanted" in bold
letters. Also on the outside, it exclaims "New Smoking Areas."
Inside, it points out, "Everybody deserves a second chance" and it goes on
to say "We've made mistakes in the past, and now we're making things right
with the people who matter most to us -- the people who simply like to play
our games."
Attached were some free play offers for the first and second halves of
July. I also got $50 resort dollars (comps), good for the entire month.
It took quite awhile ... and a lot of lost revenue ... but Revel has
finally recognized that to thrive in Atlantic City you have to be a casino first
and a resort second, not the other way around.
Welcome to the real world, Revel. Keep the offers rolling in. "The people
who matter" love to see this kind of competition among casinos.
Regards,
CoachVee & Hedy

Published state figures have shown that Revel has had the worst paying slots in town every month it has been open.

Mike- Not true. The most recent report (May 2013) shows Revel slots held 8.8%. This is quite a bit lower than many of the other clubs in town.

See for yourself....

The link you yourself provided shows the slot hold at 9.3% not 8.8%. Penny slots (way over 2/3 of the machines) returned a grand 88.2%. More sickeningly 5 dollar slots returned a heart sinking 91.9% and $25 slots 88.2%-same as pennies. Go back and read all the reports in the year it has been open and tell me they aren't the worst payers in town-with dollar and up players getting hit the worst in comparison to other joints. For comparison purposes I will try to post later just the $5 returns versus the Taj and Showboat next door.
Among slot players the word has been out for months-they suck.

Okay I see now that you have to scroll down to get the Revel figures. 8.8% is the correct figure.
What I look at is the 5 dollar machines because that is what we play on our increasingly rare visits to AC.
For May Revel had a 8.9% hold for $5 machines. Showboat had 7.4. Taj 7.6.
Worst slots-REVEL
April-10.6%, 5.4%, 6.0% respectively
Worst slots-REVEL
March-12.3%, 6.5%, 5.2%
Worst slots-REVEL
February-9.9%, 6.5%, 4.5%
Worst slots-REVEL
Starting to see a pattern? If you back to their opening month I think (and my memory could be faulty) there is only one or two months they were not the worst of the 3. Somebody must have hit megajackpots those months.

Averaging over the 4 months Revel had an average hold of 10.43%, Showboat 6.45% and Taj 5.82%.
89.5% $5 slots is shameless. Even Sheldon Adelson wouldn't do it. And you people think they are going to let you take an almost free roll at a $20K or $100K royal?
