Revel

I've been reading about the July promotion on WoV and I discussed some of the comments with my friend who's playing the promo. As I said, he's a known heavy hi-limit vp player, and he bets just as much on sports. I couldn't review all the posts because there's hundreds, but out of what I saw it looks like at least 90% of the assertions and assumptions are untrue.

One of them has to do with some supposed "list" of hi-level LV AP's Revel has, and that they are systematically banning these people from playing in the promo. Really? What causes rumors such as that? So many are claiming to "know some people" who've been turned away or were restricted in the middle of this while other "anonymous posters" are claiming they're on this "list". But you know what--we'll never see either that list or any proof from anywhere that any of this is true.

In the meantime, my friend is now up $2700. They must have missed this multi-million dollar per year player from their list.

I predict that more players will file complaints with New Jersey Gaming. The first story about Revel's tactics will be on uspoker.com tomorrow. I predict that Revel will return to being a ghost town on August 1st. And I predict that New Jersey Gaming is going to spank their butts.

Neither Revel nor the state officials have denied the existence of such a list. Maybe you are the bigger expert than those officials who are supposed to be on the scene. And with the 30 days that the state officials are telling people that it will take to check the facts, that moots the whole ball of wax, including defenses like this one. If state officials were really doing there jobs instead of protecting their risk of hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayer money, maybe the playing public would be able to see the evidence in question.

This is starting to sound like McCarthyism. I have a certified list of 40 AVP players which I can't officially confirm.

To hell with the drunk from Wisconsin. I'm a predatory animal in the
gambling world. When I smell blood I pounce. I've always been the players advocate. The house can kiss my ass. If that is McCarthyism to you then so be it.

I think you said something about people being hurt not that you knew X,Y,and Z happened for sure cause someone on the other board posted it. I am sure a few non-involved people got tagged wrong either because looked funny at something, asked about something or sat too close to people that may have done something.

Some people are of the mindset that the player is guilty until proven innocent and the house is innocent until proven guilty. And some people are of the mindset that the player is innocent until proven guilty and the house is guilty until proven innocent. I unashamedly fall into the second category.

I thought about this Revel promotion and what my game plan would be if I worked it. A nice little Amtrak ride to the east coast and check into a weekly hotel. I would have to play a high variance game and hope to get lucky. I would have to set a stop win and even a stop loss as I don't have $100,000 to loan the casino.

If I hit the stop win point then I would probably skedaddle back to the northwest taking the scenic route on Amtrak.

If I hit the stop loss then I would be stuck in Atlantic City for another 20 weeks or so. I would have to find something to do. I don't know what is available but it would probably be a combination of video poker, video keno progressives, any and all advantage slots available, and live poker.

But the one question I couldn't give a yes to was: If I lose do I trust Revel to do the right thing with my money. The answer is a big hell no.

Yeah, I had to think long and hard about going. I really wanted to go, but just couldn't shake the feeling of how likely it would be to get screwed out of the rebate. There were just too many scenarios I came up with where things could go horribly wrong, and I wasnt even planning on cheating by exaggerating recorded losses.

It really does make me wonder how people who are dishonest enough to cheat on the promotion were also naive enough to assume the casino couldn't be just as underhanded as they are. The funny thing is usually those people are the ones that are most vocal about being wronged, when in fact all that happened was they got disqualified from a promotion in which they got caught violating the rules. It does suck for the people who were playing honestly and still got screwed out of the rebate, though. Some of the cheaters already got what they deserve, I hope the honest players eventually do too.
