Return % Deuces Wild ? - SF @ 50....4OAK @ 20

What would be the return % on the following ($1 machine) DW 5-coin pay
table ? The straight flush and 4OAK are where the pay off is
different from FPDW. Thanks !

RF - 4000
4 Deuces - 1000
Wild Royal - 125
5 of kind- 75
straight flush - 50
4 of kind - 20
full house -15
flush -10
straight - 10
3 of kind - 5

94.8% The four of a kind drop from 25 to 20 is a lethal blow to this
pay table.

Recognize that in deuces (and many other wild card games) the 4-kind
pay is critical to the overall game return. In the case of FPDW, it
accounts for a whopping 32%. Consequently, if you weaken its pay from
25 to 20 (20%), you're cutting out 6% of the game return. That's a
lot that must be compensated for in order for the alternate paytable
to be reasonably strong.

In the case of "Not-So-Ugly" Deuces, that's managed by boosting the
flush to 15, the full house to 20, as well as a modest % boost in the
SF and 5K. It should be clear that something appreciably shy of that
isn't going to cut the mustard.

Hope I'm not excessively tutoring here. It's just important to
recognize what makes for a good alternative game.

The paytable you note should have a yellow hazard sign affixed to it.
It provides only a small boost to the infrequent SF pay relative to
FPDW. The ER is a little under 95%.

For future questions of this type, you really want to front the small
amount of cash to pick up a s/w product such as Frugal Video Poker or
WinPoker.

With these two changes you will be receiving a whopping 94.82% return, only
slightly better than roulette. Keep in mind that almost one third of the
return in FPDW comes from quads, which you will get on average once in just
a little over every 15 hands that you play.
