As you may remember I finally got sick of the vanishing points syndrome at
Harrahs Vegas and contacted the Casino Control Commission. Their final
result, reported to me by phone, was that the machines in Harrah's expect certain
parameters of how fast you are hitting the keys. If you play too fast, this
falls outside normal parameters, and then the results go into a separate
file/bank and have to be looked at manually. Apparently since I do play very
fast, sometimes this results is my results going into this separate bank. If this
happens, then Harrah's personnel (only 4 people in Harrah's do this) will
check it and eventually post the points by hand. This may explain why I never
had any problems with triple play machines - they are slower naturally. Only
single play machines had the problem.
Supposedly the results will be correctly posted to your account within 2 to
48 hrs.
I will try playing the suspect machines slower next time, or if points
vanish, will check back in a couple of days to see if they show up.
Meanwhile I suggest anyone playing in Harrah's keep accurate records of
accumulating points before they pull their cards out, and make sure all points do
show up within 2 days. If not, contact Harrahs (and possibly the Nevada
Casino Control Commission).
