Sorry, but I couldn't resist weighing on these two current topics:
* New Car Rental facility: On trip April 29-May 1, arriving on Sunday
evening and leaving Tuesday evening, I found the whole experience
mostly pleasant. Shuttles were *waiting* for me each way, and left
promptly. As far as cars and checking in: If you still need to talk
to a human before hopping in a rental, you're in the Dark Ages. I
love the kiosks at Alamo, so that once I print out a receipt, I
select my car and then quickly get signed off by the attendant and
I'm on my way. The only negative is that since moving to the new
facility, the return process at Alamo definitely takes a bit longer.
I've now had to wait several minutes for one of the check-in guys to
get to me, which I never had to do before.
* Re: the sound of credits racking racking up when players hit quads:
I have a split personality on this. If it's other people letting this
happen, without speeding it up, I'm somewhat jealous and resentful
for a moment until my true conscious says: Good for them. The noise
doesn't really bother me though. On the other hand, if *I'M* the one
who hit the big hand, I kinda like to pause and admire it while the
credits rack up and the machine chimes. If I can't pause and admire a
pretty hand, and enjoy the spectacle, why am I playing? Isn't that
what we're playing for? Or are we playing strictly for "hourly
advantage"? (I will sometimes click the advance button though when
I'm really, really in a hurry in the last two hours or so of a short
trip.)
Just my two cents.
