Have you noticed any drop off in
business at EC since the takeover? I dropped in to Horseshoe over the
weekend and the place was packed.
We just stopped in for the first time this past weekend. My (Harrahs) Diamond
level partner had received a $7 coupon & we went in & signed up for our
cards. We both noticed how empty the place was for a Saturday night. Marketing
better do something to get the people coming in & FAST. We use to stay overnight
occasionally at the hotel, but without that incentive, I doubt we'll visit
there very often at all. Much better offerings one exit ramp up the road, which is
where we have always spent 99% of our time. Nothing we saw this past weekend
changes that idea. There are still many VP machines in non-working or a state
of disrepair. They could use a whole lot of maintenance and marketing help
before everybody develops new habits - like Horseshoe, Majestic or Trump.

Interesting. I read another post that mentioned a drop off in business at
another property Resorts took over for Harrah's. Harrah's marketing is so
aggressive that it would not surprise me if this were true. We had offers
for hotel, cash and food from Harrah's Joliet and Horseshoe in our mailbox
the day after the take over.

There are no good options for the quarter player in Hammond, but if the
benefits are there, Resorts might be a good play for the single line quarter
player.
