I received the notice yesterday the Harrah's East Chicago IN has been sold
to Resorts with the deal to close this month.
Does anybody in this group know what kind of track record they have? I have
never been to Atlantic City. Thank you.
Resorts Buying Harrah's East Chicago IN
This has been coming for a while Howard. Are you familiar with The LV
Hilton? They took over management from Caesars Entertainment at the Hilton
about a year ago. I have seen the transition there. Things have tightened
up a little bit as far as comps go (my opinion)but it remains one of the
better plays for the midrolling tourist and they have so far left their vp
inventory pretty much the same.
It would be hard for them to make the vp situation worse in East Chicago.
If they only rewarded the play with slot benefits of the inventory that is
there it would be a big improvement. I have some hope, but Resorts AC is
not known for fantastic vp and I'm not holding my breath for any big
inventory additions. If you get lucky they'll have a decent sign up
promotion that you can work.
The single positive, aside from a well managed property, to Harrah's EC was
the frequent offers for a quality on property hotel room. With the coming
change those have dried up for us and some others that I have talked to.
There is really no reason for us to go there until Resorts takes over.
Nancy received a letter the other day with a "choice to share information"
form from Harrah's. If I receive the same letter I believe I will choose
not to share as my minimal Harrah's EC play will do nothing for me.
