I always seem to misplace some of the W-2g's received in a year. From my
"log", I list them all, attach those that I have and just put "misplaced" by the
other entries.
I've never been challenged by the lack of the paperwork since I am confidant
that I list each and every RF with date , place and amount over $1200 that I
got,
I presume my enumeration coincides with theirs.

It is not necessary to include W2G's with your return (unless you had federal tax withheld from them) - a list of them is sufficient. However, for those who get a lot of them, it is very easy to lose some - so those people might want to get copies from the IRS.
