Reposting the "sacred seven" JOB to DB conversion rules

To make the transition from JOB to DB strategy, without causing too
much pain, but also garnering most of the benefit that you would get
from a complete strategy change, here are the "SACRED SEVEN",
changes from JOB strategy when playing 10/7 DB:

The "Straight Rules"
1. Keep inside straights, no high cards rather than dump all five.
2. Keep inside straights, one or two high cards rather than draw to
the high card(s).

The "Flush Rules"
3. Keep a three-flush, no high cards in preference to drawing five
cards.
4. Keep a three-flush, one high card in preference to drawing to the
high card.

The "I Can't Stand This Rule" Rule

5. Draw one to a flush rather than two to a royal. AKJ5 hearts, 2
spades; draw one card, not two.

The "Aces Full" Rule

6. Draw two, breaking the full house, from any pat full house:
AAAXX. Note: Do NOT break two pair, AAXX unless you are playing 9/7
DB.

The "Lonesome Ace" Rule

7. Hold single Ace rather than A+ UNSUITED high card, IF no card the
same suit as the Ace is in the original hand. Hold Ace+ suited high
card + third suited card rather than A+ suited card only. (Example:
AK5 of clubs, 7 of hearts, 3 of spades; draw two to AK5.)

I thought there might be some interest in this in light of recent
postings. I don't know what the EV gain is from applying these
rules, but my guess would be that this recovers 80% or more of the
lost EV from playing JOB strategy at 10/7 JOB.

Thanks for posting the Sacred Seven DB rules! I had to learn them through
trial and error on winpoker over time, and it's nice to see them written
out. Just an observation, and I'm interested in hearing others'
experiences, but my DB return over time (casino and home play combined) has
been over 114%, which absolutely blows the doors off my return on any other
game. No question it's a fluke, but a very welcome one!!
