Caesar's will open a Diamond Lounge in a week or so. Meanwhile I tried the
7 Star Lounge. The lounge is quite plush, with nice couches and chairs.
Unfortunately a few tables and chairs would have been nice if you are eating
there. Hours seem to be 4-10 weekdays and 9-11 on Sat. and Sunday. You have to
go to the VIP Check in (in Augustus Tower) and ask for a key to get in. The
key lasts for 24 hrs, then get a new one.
You are able to do this even if you are not staying at Caesar's. Hot food
is put out at 5:30 and taken away about 7:30pm. Cold food is available at
other times, but when I went at about 9pm there was no food. I thought there
was not as much food as found in the regular Diamond Lounges. Deserts were
especially sparse - only some cookies and small petite fours. Fruit tray, cold
cuts, and bread were the primary cold items. Strangely they had no
mayonnaise for the cold cuts - which would have been good-- "we serve mustard" the
waitress told me. I prefer my sandwich with mayo - thank you - so used butter.
Hot items were sliced pork and sliced chicken on the night I was there. I
didn't think these were as good as the chicken wings/shrimp or chicken
wings/small beef wellington's I had gotten as hot food at Bally's Diamond Club.
Waitress service was slow. When we arrived I had to search for an
attendant, and later only one lady served and cleaned up. My friend asked what single
malt scotch was available, and was told "we have all kinds..." but then they
didn't have MacCallan, so he got Glenlivet 18 year, and was never told what
kinds they might have.
Tea and coffee were set out.
Perhaps a better dinner bet for 7* players would be to go to this lounge
first, then head over to the Ceasar's Diamond Lounge when it opens for more food
(or across the street to Bally's).
I was told they serve continental breakfast on weekends (no hot food). I
got a great hot breakfast at Bally's Diamond club.
One interesting thing was that the VIP check-in area was able to take my
photo and give me a 7* card with a photo. The Rio Diamond club entrance is the
only other place in town that has this ability currently.
The folks at the VIP check-in desk were extremely nice and helpful. The
waitress inside was adequate.
The 7* Lounge connects directly to the HiRoller pit, so apparently it might
also act as a lounge for high rollers who are not 7* members.
I've been told that Harrah's Atlantic City has a great 7* Club with menu and
full-meal service. Vegas isn't up to that standard.
