report on Caesar's Diamond Club/7* Club

Caesars Palace's new Diamond club is in the Augustus Tower near Diamond
check-in. Hours are the same as at other Diamond Clubs (DC for short) in Vegas -
9-10pm on Sat. and Sun; 12 noon til 10pm Friday, 4-10pm Mon-Thurs. Decor is
quite nice, and the room is quite big - much larger than Harrahs Vegas DC.
They have 4 internet stations, bar, restrooms, tables and chairs, flat screen
TVs.

Food: the horrible wraps (sandwiches which we find overly spicy and weird -
keep complaining about them!), small deserts, cookies, fruit tray, cheese.
At 7pm they bring out 2 hot dishes - today was shrimp or crab balls and
chicken wings.

7* Club is also in the Augustus Tower, inside of VIP/7* check-in. You must
get a special card for entry, which you can reuse for 24 hours (or length of
stay). This card definitely does not last 6 months as someone tried to say.
The special card unlocks the door, but the waitress/waiters inside are now
asking to look at your 7* card once again, when you are inside, to write down
your name. They told me this would be done everytime you enter the club --
how inconvenient and dumb I say.

Hours are apparently 8am til 10 pm daily. But food isn't served until 9 am.
Hot food comes out at 5:30pm and disappears around 7:30pm. Continental
breakfast is served (versus full breakfast with eggs in the DC).

Food in the 7* was not as good as in the DC. They do have cold cuts and
bread, instead of the horrible wraps, which is a plus. But deserts were small
and fewer in variety. Hot food once again consisted of two types of meat (one
with veggies) tonight.

The 7* Lounge is extremely nicely decorated, but has only couches and lounge
chairs, no tables and chairs, making it less convenient for eating. My
friend found the lounge chair to be uncomfortable as well. Only one waitress
while we were there, making service a bit slower than one might expect, though
she tried hard to come around and keep cleaning up. No bar, so you can't be
sure what stuff they have to drink. You can ask and see what they have, but
it seemed like they were hesitant to reel off a list of wines or other stuff.
For instance my friend asked for white wine, was told about one, when she
then said "do you have a reisling?" the waitress came up with a different wine.
On one trip another friend asked what single malt scotches do you have and
was told - whatever you like - but they then seemed to just have Glenlivet.
This time I asked and was told "Glenlivet." They do have newspapers and
small, delicious chocolates (you can take some).

Overall, it might be best to visit both the DC and the 7* Lounge if you have
access to both, and snack at both for the best variety.

It looked like a lot of Caesars personnel were also snacking in the 7*
Lounge - which seemed a bit odd to us -- is it for players or for hosts and others?

By the way, my friend had a room in Augustus Tower, and it really is nice.
Don't eat the snacks they have out in the room though without consulting the
pricelist. $8 for a tiny can of nuts. The refrigerator is packed with food
-- for a fee - don't remove it or you could be charged. Flat screen TV in
bedroom and in bathroom. The rooms are studio suites with couch, chairs and
table, and bed. Great views in both directions, since tower is turned
perpendicular to the strip. We preferred the Bellagio direction with great view of
fountain.
