A friend of mine who oversees the poker
at a major Strip casino said this:
Anthony is very correct here.
I've seen the application on the iphone. It is cute. But, it is also
cumbersome to use. There is no way you can use it clandestinely at
the table. If it weren't for the fact that Nevada gaming regs ban
electronic aids, I think most casinos wouldn't even worry about it.
Right now you can see players using those little plastic cards telling
them when to hit, split, or stand. The casino will send you a limo if
you'd like!
Like the article says, you would have to have rather large bet
variations in order to make it worth your while.
I think that the casino's biggest concern is in making an
unintentional felon out of a guest if a gaming agent spots the iphone
in use at the table.
Do you know the story of why the casinos banned electronic devices?
Here it is:

The episode dates back to the 1970s.
